Kalimbah Standardbreds - Standardbreds
As well as retraining retired Standardbreds using our own specialised methods we are also happy to help horsepeople find a suitable Standardbred of thier own to retrain.

Kalimbah Standardbreds offers a range of horses from fresh off the track to lightly started and then working under saddle on trails. Our horses come to us from a network of trainers and owners that that we have built up through our industry involvement over the past 6 years. We do not consider any of our horses "rescues", we acknowledge the effort that goes into training and preparing these horses and are grateful for the opportunity to move them on to the next stage in their working careers.

All the horses listed below are located at Bredbo and we do not sell "sight unseen".
If you are interested in any of the horses below please contact us for more information. If you have a "wish list" for your new horse, let us know what you are after as well so we can let you know if we have anything that may suit you or may be able to put you in contact with someone who can help.

**Photos coming soon**

Honey -14'2hh 6yo mare. Very sweet and calm young mare who is eager to please on the ground and under saddle. Taking all the sights of the Bredbo trails in her stride, walks out well but not overly forward in the trot or canter.

Tully - 16'1hh 9yo Gelding. A seasoned racehorse, Tully is a hard worker who will make the transition to saddle with ease. He will be started under saddle before looking for a new home.

Boots - 14'2hh 6yo Gelding. Boots looks more like a little stock horse than a Standie. He is being retained by Kalimbah - hopefully to fill the role of "first big horse" for our daughter Georgia.

Sam - 15'1hh 7yo Gelding. The "Star Trek" horse... who bravely goes where no horse has been before. Ground work has shown him to be brave, forward and very trainable. Sam had a major injury while racing but received excellent treatment that enabled him to go on and win in record setting time. This injury should not affect a new career on the trail.

Chips - 15'2hh 3yo Gelding. Unraced - Chips is a nice natured boy who has had his basic harness training but is still baby who will need training to improve his groundwork before starting him under saddle.
