Bling
SOLD
2006 14'3hh Grey Filly

My first grey Standardbred and what a gorgeous girl! What you can't see from the photos is the definate pink tinge she has to her grey!
Bling has never raced and has a huge future under saddle. Her colour, looks and movement are going to turn heads where ever she goes!

So Bling has been sold to a lovely family and has started her Kalimbah training on the way to becoming a riding horse. First step was to instill some "personal space" rules as this mare just loves to be up close and personal. She is beautiful and she does know it but after just a few "discussions" she is now working really well on the ground and responding to all the rope and body cues I give her. She has a naturally rhythmic trot and we have some nice up and down transtitions happening but I want to give her another week of increased lunging time to start building her up again. She lost some weight in the "let down" process but work and good hard feeds with the Muscle XL suppliment will see her starting to bulk up in the areas we want for riding.

Miss Bling has worked well in the saddle and bridle on with her lunge work this week. She has a lovely light, balanced trot but is still a bit stiff through her body so will see the Chiro this week before starting any riding work.
This week she showed off her ground skills by helping teach her new family the finer aspect of lunging work. She did very well to work with 3 strange people and tried her hardest to understand the (sometimes mixed) signals they were giving her. She is such a special little horse!

Bling has now had 2 rides under saddle, picking up her ridden cues very quickly once she figured out what I was doing sitting on her back! She actually looked right up at me the first time as if to say "What are you doing up there woman?"
She has suffered a bit of a setback with a swollen tendon due to a kick from Babe in the paddock. She will need another week off to make sure she is soung to continue with her training.
It is interesting looking at the photos from when she arrived that she is actually more of a rosey colour now. Very Pretty Girl!
