Keep It Safe & Simple
An important part of training at Kalimbah includes making sure new owners have all the skills they need to enjoy their new horse. This has led to the development of the principals of KISS Horsemanship and the decision to offer these training sessions to any interested riders wanting to improve their skills, learn more about the Standardbred and enjoy some quaility riding time.
After spending most of her life involved with horses Pieta has been training and breaking for the past 15 years. Her involvement with the Standardbred began in 2005 and these horses continue to amaze her with their calmness and trainability to this day.
Through the process of retraining and selling Standardardbreds, Pieta realised there was a huge interest in pleasure riding by people who had ridden when they were younger but had a long break or who had always wanted to ride but not had the opportunity before. She also realised that the traditional "riding lessons" offered to these people were not fulfilling their needs or giving them the skills they needed to persue their horse riding interest safely and enjoyably.
Along with her experience in breaking, training, teaching, stock work and trail riding Pieta is also an Accredited Trail Boss with the Australian Trail Horse Riders Association and is currently completing the government approved Certificate III in Sport Coaching Equestrian SRS30306. All these experiences (plus being a mother of 4 horse mad children) has given Pieta a keen eye for risk management and an emphisis on safety and simplicity in her teaching methods. Hence...
